Perfect for Your Personalized Tracing Board!

Making Name Practice Special

Your child's name is the most meaningful word they'll learn to write! LetterDoodle's name practice modes work perfectly with your Elation Factory personalized name tracing boards, providing audio feedback and visual guidance as your child traces their own name.

How Name Practice Works

1
Letters appear in order: LetterDoodle shows each letter of your child's name one at a time, in the correct order. For "Emma Rose Smith", it would show: E-m-m-a (space) R-o-s-e (space) S-m-i-t-h
2
Audio pronunciation: Each letter is pronounced clearly, helping your child connect the visual letter with its sound.
3
Name building display: As your child progresses, they see their name being built letter by letter at the bottom of the screen.
4
Celebration at completion: When all letters are complete, your child sees their full name displayed with a celebration animation!

Tips for Name Practice Success

Start with First Name Only

If your child is just beginning, practice only their first name initially. You can add the last name once they're comfortable.

Make It Personal

Talk about what makes their name special. Share the story of how you chose their name or what it means.

Celebrate Milestones

The first time your child writes their whole name is a big deal! Take a photo of their traced name to commemorate the achievement.

Be Patient with Longer Names

Children with longer names may need more practice sessions. Break it into smaller chunks if needed - first name one day, last name another.

Common Questions

Q: What if my child doesn't have a middle name?

A: No problem! The "Practice Your Full Name" mode will only be available if a middle name is entered in their profile. Use the "First & Last Name" mode instead.

Q: Can I change how my child's name appears?

A: Yes! Parents can update their child's name in the Parent Dashboard. Make sure it matches your tracing board exactly.

Q: Why don't I see example words during name practice?

A: Name practice focuses exclusively on the letters in your child's name. Example words are available in the alphabet practice modes.

Q: My child has a hyphenated name. How does that work?

A: Hyphens are treated like letters and will appear in the practice sequence. Make sure to enter the name exactly as it appears on your tracing board.
